Will a poly 318 engine fit into any cars/trucks after 1974? I've got a good running engine & tranny in my 74 charger that's in bad shape. Just curious.
The Poly engine will fit in any car or truck that came equipped with a "LA" engine. It is a drop in, bolt up and go thing except for 1 issue and that wor be exhaust. Where ever the poly engines exhaust manifolds exit, the exhaust pipe will have to be custom bent to meet the manifold IF the manifold clears the body. It SHOULD not be a problem.
The last year of the U.S. Poly is 1966 & I'm Canada, 1967. Trucks may have had it longer. But not much longer at all since the LA phased out the Poly.
FWIW, a Magnum will also be the same as a Poly so long as the Magnum engine has LA mounts on it.
