Years ago, I did a set of the poly CA bushing for upper and lower on my '71 Road Runner, along with a set of larger torsion bars and sway bars. Afterwards I would hear a slight clunk noise when driving the car hard in corners.
I put it up on the rack and could see the LCA was moving slightly back and forth on the mount, enough to actually affect caster. What I found was the torsion has a slight amount of back and forth movement and had slid back against the retaining clip. The poly LCA bushings just slide into the original bushing shells and the pin slides into the bushings. Add to that that you are supposed to lube the bushing to avoid squeaking and there's nothing to keep the LCA from moving slightly back and forth on the poly bushing. This is not an issue with OE rubber style LCA bushings because they press into the arm and onto the mount pin, effectively "locking" the arm in place at the pivot point.
I kept the poly uppers and changed out to OE style rubber lowers and have not had any noise or alignment issues.
