poly numbers

ok .. i can't find these numbers .... i know its a 318 V800 fury mill. but what do these numbers show??

Probably a casting number. Polys are old enough they didn't have any VIN's or body numbers on them.

Here's a list I have that says your engine is a '57 301ci; a 57 Fury 318 would have been FP31- and a 60 318 would have been P318-. I really don't study these '50s engines much, so grain of salt?

1737929 sez 318 57-8. guess il find out when i pull the heads. i seen to remember reading someplace ya can bore them all the way out to a 326. so im guessing thay used the same block casting for them all.

Polys came in many sizes, and in some cases they used the same castings for multiple displacements. As you said, pulling the heads should clear it up. The other number is probably a sequential engine serial number.
