Posi Rear

The childish nonsense... lol Call it what ever you want, as long as it leaves TWO Black strips !

That said, the Wife's '67 Formula S x 383 - 4 gear came from the factory with a peg leg 3:23. Thank God, that coaster wheel helps it go straight!

.....and then you opine like a child :poke:

If your 69 GTX came with a 727 and the stock ratio, it could be either open or limited slip. (NOT posi! Some here will rake you over the coals for using a chevy term!)
If it had a performance ratio, sure grip automatically.
If it's a four speed, it came with a Dana, and in passenger cars ALL Dana 60s were suregrip.

Both of my 69 Road Runners have 3.23 open differentials. Both are 4 speeds.
True, and correct. Stock on a 383 runner was an open 3.23, optional gear ratios and sg, at extra cost. 3.23 could be open or sg, 3.55-up were sg only. Dana 60 was not available in a 383 car.
But O.P. asked about a GTX. A 440 with a 4sp automatically (?) came with a Dana 60, and all passenger Dana's were suregrip.

I thought there was something about a 3.91 RR that blew up the diff, got a replacement D60 for warranty?
