I'm trying to get my 74 Roadrunner back into sorts before putting the new engine in, and the guys who pulled the old one didn't label squat. :(

Looking at the positive battery cable, there are two wires, one thick and one thin, that run from the clamp down to the starter. I'm using a mini-starter that has two posts on it. I know the thick cable goes to the larger post, but does the second positive wire go to the smaller post, or is that for the wire to the starter relay?

Thanks, but those wiring diagrams are technically correct but functionally unusable as they show only one cable going to the starter. :)

The pic is not that clear. Look up your car on the "my mopar list" schematic(A).

Big wire goes to the starter.
Small wire goes to the relay. (same place where the blue wire is).
Brown wire on the relay goes down to the small lug on the starter.

Thats the wiring from the factory but I'm not sure, not being there in person, if there has been any changes made to your car's wiring in the past...

Edit: There should be a smaller red wire along your inner fender (driver side) that was attached at one time. Maybe a yellow butt connector still on it wrapped up in the wiring harness. That would be the one you connect your small battery wire to.
