In the same vein for different speeds, I have the 1968 album by Moby Grape, called 'WOW'. Track A5, entitled "Just Like Gene Autry; A Foxtrot" is meant to be played at 78 rpm. while the rest of the album is the standard 33.
I know what I know, if I knew what I don't know, I'd know what I knew and what I don't know, so I wouldn't know if I didn't know what I don't know.You don't know what you don't know.

I knew that.I know what I know, if I knew what I don't know, I'd know what I knew and what I don't know, so I wouldn't know if I didn't know what I don't know.
In my garage I have this 1965 Rockola jukebox. It will play 45rpm records but also 33 1/3 rpm too. The speed changes mechanically depending on the size of the record center hole. Big one plays at 45, the small hole pushes release fingers down that reduces the speed to 33 1/3rpm. Pretty cool. I had the tube amplifier rebuilt, replaced the needle and it sounded great. Unfortunately the selector circuit failed so it needs to be repaired again.Ten Years After put out a single called 'Love Like A Man'. It was a rare single in that side one was 45 rpm. and side two was 33 rpm. because side two was the same song, but a ten minute live version, and it wouldn't fit at the higher speed.
Ric Lee, the drummer, said they were in a cafe in France and someone played the single (side two) on a jukebox - of course it was playing too fast, but everyone was dancing to it anyway.
Do you know what you didn't know before you didn't know that you knew that there was stuff you didn't know?I know what I know, if I knew what I don't know, I'd know what I knew and what I don't know, so I wouldn't know if I didn't know what I don't know.
Lincoln Logs were invented by Frank Lloyd Wright’s son. |
John Lloyd Wright, son of famed American architect Frank Lloyd Wright, based Lincoln Logs on a real project that he worked on alongside his father. John began as his father’s apprentice in 1913, and while the professional relationship was short-lived, John briefly played a role in planning Tokyo’s Imperial Hotel. The hotel plan featured an innovative design of interlocking timber beams to increase stability, which actually helped the structure survive the 1923 Great Kantō earthquake. Though John quit before the project was complete, he drew great inspiration from its design, and in 1920 he patented an interlocking log cabin toy. He chose the name “Lincoln Logs” to evoke a sense of Americana, basing it on the 16th president’s childhood log cabin. |
Equally interesting, his father Robert Altman got $70,000 for directing the M*A*S*H movie while Michael received over $1,000,000 for the songwriting lyrics as the song was released as a hit single. This came as a bit of a surprise to me, as I remember my grandpa watching this TV show religiously...
The lyrics to the main theme song for the M*A*S*H TV series, "Suicide Is Painless," was written by Michael Altman.
Michael Altman was just 14 years old when he wrote those lyrics.

I remember being told many many years ago that there was a finite amount of Gold in the planet - only enough to fill 3 x Olympic sized swimming pools. There is gold dissolved in seawater. A cubic mile of ocean contains approximately 25 tons of gold. In all the oceans there are 200 million tons, worth 700 Trillion dollars.
