So I noticed today when I was replacing the rear X member reinforcement plate, there was some darker rust where the rear leaf spring connects to the frame of the car. The frame rails have been solid on this car, but this could be an area of concern. Can I get some opinions if it looks like an issue? I think it will be okay. The front and outside part of the connection seems fine, it is just the bottom portion. I could always weld a support plate over the rusted area for reinforcement. Photos attached.

Looks plenty strong to me.
But you do need new bushings.

If it's like that on the outside where its visible and got a token amount of protection, I wonder what the inner areas look like that got nothing and are bare steel. Have access to a borescope?

The one with the circle flatten and weld. It maybe worth it to sandblast some of those areas and a little welding for piece of mind if you're unsure.
