Saturday afternoon, June 15th this is what The Peak looked like. They are doing some construction. That's a backhoe.

Snow is just part of the race. Sunny at the bottom, rain, sleet, ice, and snow when you get to the top. If you didn't qualify high enough they might stop the race before you get a chance. That's the way it goes.

I was up on the way to the top, quite a few years ago now
on July 4th weekend & it was snowing,
comes in at anytime or any month, sort of the norm for 14,000ft

I haven't seen anything about the race so far

I heard Randy Probst is being sponsored by Dodge this year. Supposed to be some secret new vehicle.

I can remember when the top was a two lane road and the last turn was one lane. If a car died between the two boulders at the top traffic was stopped in both directions. If your car stalled on the final stretch everyone backed down or got out and pushed to get you going again. Their were no guard rails and you could look over the edge and see the cars that had gone off the road 100's of feet below.
By the way what construction are they doing up there now?

They stress this a lot....The PPIHC is a dangerous race and all spectators attend at their own risk. Spectator viewing areas do not ensure safety. I don't know what the construction is but it's been going on for over a year. Limited time to work up there.
