Just submitted a form to the state prison Ombudsman office in California. After typing in my first and last name there was a mandatory question with three choice answers, I just hope I chose the correct option for the question "preferred pronouns": I chose "He, Him, His", the other two options were "She, Her, Hers" and "They, Them, Theirs".

My best friend writes software for health insurance and other HR info for a very large corporation.

They recognize 4 genders - male, female, binary, and trans.

But the medical system only recognizes two - male and female.

To get approved for a PAP smear, you have to be female.
To get approved for a prostrate exam, you have to be male.

So it comes down to not what you think you are but what kind of
plumbing that you have !
