After this thread was started, i happened to see a tv commercial for a company called, invent help. On the commercial it said, contact us for free information. So - i did. I got online & left my info. I ASSUMED i would receive a brochure in the mail. Today, a woman called from their company. She introduced herself, asked me if i had an idea, and immediately started to financially qualify me. After telling her that my intent was not to pay for patents & production, but to ( sell ) my ideas, she said even that takes several thousand dollars. Then tried to get me to schedule an appointment to come in, disclose my ideas, and discuss what they can do. I asked if that was necessary before sending out a brochure. She told me the free info was in person, no brochure. I said that seems misleading. She replied, well if you are serious about your ideas-. I said, it also makes it easier for you to close the deal. And i wasnt willing to drive to their office ( which is in ky. I'm in oh). She said, i guess we cant help you then. CLICK. During our conversation i couldn't help but to think- if they are deceptive before we even meet, what could happen once money exchanges hands, or they have my ideas. I expect they have a confidentiality agreement to sign. Though i'm sure it and $2.00 would buy a bottle of pop. The whole thing left me feeling on guard, and kinda bunched my shorts.
