Pro's and Con's on new Alternator

One thing I do not like about 1 wires is that the voltage sensing point can only be right inside the alternator. The voltage sensing point with a multiwire internal VR system or an external VR system can be anywhere and will be more accurate. The whole car wiring in a 1 aire system needs to be better to eliminate all of the wiring and conenction voltage drops that the 1 wire system cannot sense. I can see that being an issue with an older wiring system.

I just purchased a POWERMASTER which has the VR on the outside of the Alternator and not internal, that's a first for me, I'm going to try it and up the amount of insurance on my car.

This is being over thought way too much....

It's an alternator. ... I have put one wire alternators on most of my mopar's and never had a problem. If you want to worry about an electrical problem worry about the amp guage... that is the potential thing to burn the car down with old wiring...

Only problem I've seen is that they don't like low voltage/dead batteries (that self exciting part) and not a bad idea to run the output thru a big fuse. And make sure the alternator is grounded.
