Proud new owner of a very sorry `69 charger

Hello all, I have managed to buy myself into a very ambitious most likely life long project. About ten months ago I bought the remains of a `69 charger (SE 383 AC luggage rack vinyl top with all the rust to prove it) pars car that some one else started to try to piece together. That guy rebuilt the front suspension and (poorly)welded in the trunk pan and rails out of a cornet. Now that has been done all that remains is everything else:hello2: I`ve been buying parts as I can find/afford them. With what I make I will never be able to bring this thing back to what it was when it was new but my goal is to make it a decent driver before my daughter puts me in a nursing home. Here is a couple pictures of what I`m working with...

The '69 Charger is my dream car and I plan to do the same kind of thing when I retire from the military. In the meantime I hve a '71 Charger to "learn" from.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Right now I`m just collecting parts. I almost have a complete interior (came with a column and dash) I just got quarter skins and the rear valance I got an excellent deal on a spare front clip including a complete `69 grill and I just have a few more trim pieces to obtain. When I start cutting into this thing there will be pictures.

Dennis, I though I might be walking into the lions den with 76maverick as my handle but thats what I use on most sites to keep things simple for me. My mom gave it to me when I was 15, if the thing gets t-boned by an 18wheeler the remains will be kept in the back yard... also its not the typical `76 four door maverick.


It has a 347 with afr heads and a paxton. I got tires of blowing up C4s so I swapped in a t56 and it has a 9" with 3.73s and a detroit locker. I know the paint is crappy I`ve been going to fix it for a few years... probably not gonna happen.
