Oh sh-t moment...
duck hopefully under the axle tube, if not a fatty

A friend of mine was pulling the drive shaft on his car. It dropped, and he cushioned it with his face. Broken nose, and 2 black eyes.

Oh man...Can't say I've ever pulled that particular stunt.

Other stupid stunts, sure.

I grew up farming with equipment from the 1950s.
Oak blocks are useful for a lot of things, including making sure multi-ton stuff can't roll..... or fall on you.....

In the late 80's, I did do a dumb maneuver and live to tell about it. I was using my brother's floor jack to let my Duster down after jacking it up. I was only using one half of the handle, so I was kneeling down under the tank. His jack liked to stick, unlike mine which was MIA at the time. Yup, got compressed. Luckily I had the wheels/tires on the car. Ended up with a cracked rib and marks across my back, for several years, of where the baffled Super Traps I was using at the time left their mark. Hard lesson there!

I've seen several FAIL GIF threads, FAFO threads and others where this very thing was recorded and the guys barely made it out from under the car.
I've done some stupid things but somehow, never this. Most of the vehicles I've owned were lowered and needed to be lifted for me to fit underneath.
That must have saved me.

Wheel chocks are not that expensive.
On my truck, I had used wheel chocks, but forgot to also use the emergency brake when I pulled the valve body out of the transmission.
Truck still try to roll, but good thing I had the wheel chocks.
