The punch marks correspond to the number they are stamped through. The shipping order number is the first section on the left and it's pretty easy to compare the SO number printed on the top right and see how it works.

So Starting out with the important stuff I see engine Code "0" and Trans Code "6" and Axle "8"?

This should help you get on the right track as to conceptually how the cards are used. After that, we look at the various codes and see what they tell us.

ENGINE 0 = engine code 500 (take the number at the bottom of the column and add the number that is punched out to get the entire code) but I think you know what code means ;)
TRANSMISSION 6 = 346 = three speed floor shift.
AXLE 8 = code 538 = 3.91

Nice find. Any pictures you can share?

If I'm reading that vin # correctly 162883 it's listed in Darrell Davis's Dodge 413 book.
Super Stock engine 11-1 three speed transmission. No radio, no heater, Black tires, Clear glass, PP1 paint (Red), shipping date 6-June.

Nice car:thumbsup:

Thank you guys. Chrysler Historical is back open but they don't translate or send a letter anymore, just the card.

Kid is it possible to find one of those books anymore? Surprised no one does a reprint.

Thank you for the help. Some pics. Been doing some housekeeping and improvements for a couple of months. A bit of paint work to go (hence the blue tape). New torsion bars, tires and wheels up front, etc.

Kramer Automotive Specialties - 1962-76 Dodge & Plymouth Racing, Restoration, and Reproduction Parts (Just saw out of stock)

Could try Ebay for a used one?

(I corrected my previous post from an auto to a three speed transmission. That's what the book stated. Guess I read it wrong.)
