I'm putting full quarter panels on a 68 Charger with a friend and we have a couple preliminary questions.

1. How did the factory assemble that brace pictured below from the rear wheel housing up to the trunk and quarter panel? And what should we know about taking that apart?

2. The 6 inch brace looks like it is there for stability. Is that correct?

Thanks!

First take the torsion rods out of brace's. The brace is all spot welded together. You have to drill them loose to get the quarter between that and the Dutchman's panel. The brace is there to stiffen up the area it attaches to.

Thanks for the tip Dodge33. I'm sure that brace will be our Friday night entertainment!

I have two questions about this end cap. First, you can see from angle of the light it looks like I'll need to put a little skim layer of filler . . . but this is pop metal and maybe I should just leave it alone? Also the studs on the back of the passenger side are broken. Are these repairable or will I need to buy a new one? Thanks!
