Hello everyone. Trying to finally clean up the worrying harness that had so many spices. Where is that? Just went nowhere and we're cut off with wire nuts and just a general mess. Since it does have 100 amp alternator and it has a double field plug I do have continuity between The dark green and the regulator plug but the dark blue looks like it goes to ignition system on the schematic and of course, since it was a lean burn some time ago it goes all over the place. Is this just a 12 V feed that's always on the run side? Or can I just do a test with the ignition on run and see if I get 12 V there? Just wanna have it correct so no melted wires. Thanks.

The blue wire. Is ign. on, and connects to one field terminal, and the voltage regulator pos. terminal, as shown in the picture. The green wire connects the other field wire to the VR negative terminal.

Great so I f I find a Ing on , say the electric choke or such if I don't have 12v already I should be good. Thank you much.

I don't know where the choke gets it's power from, but you can't have any voltage drop at the regulator or it will over charge. With the key on, the VR pos. wire should have the same voltage as the battery.

That's great thanks. Since I remove the electronic box because of ready to run distributor. There's a five pin connector that feeds that it looks like maybe the ERG and things like that that I don't need anymore so I was able to get some good voltage with on on a couple of those legs. Knowing that I just need a good 12v on run helps lots. Now just need to find / make that 6ga ground wire!
