Looking to add power windows to my 1970 RR Convertible. Was wondering if anyone can tell me which rear window power regulators will fit my 1970 RR convertible.....I assume 68-70 B Body convertible rear regulators will fit but though it would be best to check for sure. I have seen postings that have said that the rear power regulators are different for the B Body hardtops, coupes & convertibles.
Did check with Nu-Relic and they do not have a kit for the B Body convertibles at this time.....they are having a hard time getting the motors to fit (have not been able to find a donor car to make measurements with)......space is pretty tight inside the rear quarters on a drop-top.
Thanks

However I have heard 66 and 67 convertible regulators may work. Can't seem to verify this though. Nurelics makes a setup for a 70 Coronet convertible but they don't understand it will also work on a plymouth. If you tell them you have a Dodge they will have a kit for it. I have one of them sitting here waiting for the car to come back from the body shop.

I have been in touch with Nu Relics this past week and they told me that they are having clearance problems with the motor on the rear regulator for a 70 RR convertible.....something to do with the length of the regulator arm......they do have access to a "donor" car but can't get at it until spring.....will have a regulator ready in a few months........I do remember reading somewhere that the 70 Dodge & Plymouth convertibles were a bit different when it came to the rear power windows.....should of saved that on my computer..........I am new to Mopars so still learning........

The rear windows were the same 66-70 so that's makes me thing the motors would be too. Prop used to have a 68 Coronet Convert w/ Power windows and he had to replace or rework some of the power stuff so you might ask him if he has any insight and maybe some pics

The power window regulators for vert's are are extremely hard to find, not to mention the other hardware like motor brackets and switches. Example, per Galen Govier, my '68 Coronet 500 was 1 of 152 verts made with power windows. Honestly it would be a lot easier to go in the direction of one of those universal power window kits, then trying to find all the parts and pieces you need to be OEM. If you're dead set on your mission to put factory style power windows in your car, the good news is that the motors are easily accessible at least.

The motors themselves were used for many many years, even well into the 80's. There is a left and a right side. The cast #'s off the motors are 2520903 and 2520902.
The rebuilt Dorman units P/N's for those motor's are 742-303 and 742-202. Those can be found at such place like Rock Auto or on the bay for about 40-50 bucks a piece. You would also need the 45 tooth-outer, 9 tooth inner gear and rubber composite gear cover, which can also be found at rock auto or other parts suppliers. CARDONE also supplies these motors.

I believe Dorman/CARDONE does make the motors with the gears and cover included, I do not have the P/N's for them. If you wanted to save some coin an buy used on the Bay, craigslist or the bone yard, a lot of cars from the 70's thru 80's had these motors. Such cars like the Labaron, Volare, Aspen, Diplomat ect..ect.. I would not go searching for any 68-70 power window motors. They are identical to the newer vehicles (besides the cheap 2 prong wire connector), will probably be in rough shape and you will pay a premium price.

Good luck

Convertable regulators are unique. We installed Nu-Relics in a 70RR convert. a couple years ago. It took some trimming on the interior sheet metal and maybe slotting a hole. Heres where I found out about them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2J7YmH1Egtc

Yep, as I mentioned they (Nu Relics) are having clearance issues with the motors for the rear regulators on the convertibles......hoping to sort it out later this year.
