my friends father just got 2 durangos given to him,
ones parts/rotted ones a driver
he reggied it immediately and Then brought it to me to check out.
first thing i noticed was the tranny doing weird things today.
i told him id look it up and figure it out.
now i drive home eat dinner,log in and Kerndog has already solved it for me...

I ordered the kit online; solenoid pack, detent plate (required when updating from black plug to white 99-03), filters, gasket........

and 7 qts atf. about 360 bucks all in.......... it's a 4-6 hour job for the non-expert

they also sell a repair kit for the solenoid pack........ 31 bucks

I was very tempted, but it seemed too cheap and too good to be true..........I wanna drive this for a while so I shelled out for the new/complete, updated part

Replacement / repair of this solenoid assembly typically cures nearly all electrical shift related problems.

This is suggested replacement on all rebuilds.



Tech Tip:
Besure to unplug the main solenoid connector before dropping the valve body down.
The external Connector Repair kit is not yet available.
Solenoid is mounted on the Top side of the Valve Body Assembly.

These worn solenoid block assemblys can cause False / Inttermittent Pressure Switch Codes due to Circuit Board Flexing.
This Sonnax Repair Kit comes with there custom spacer to stop Circuit Board Flexing.

update....... put almost 500 miles on it, it's sweet! no codes/no light, runs and shifts as designed...... passed inspection, good for 2 years

wife totally LOVES it, as does the doggie!....... she spent all day yesterday cleaning it up..... she had gotten a decal custom made, I put it on this morning........I suppose flipping it for a quick profit is now out of the question

after the trans fix; I installed 4 ball joints, 2 new front calipers and hoses, a window regulator, and a shot of 134a........ I'm in it for about 750 bucks including title and registration........ now that's my kind of beater! (center caps coming)
