Can someone tell me, did the 65 Belvedere II come with a latching mechanism for the back of the front seat? I am talking about the mechanism that locked the back for the front seat and kept it from flipping forward. It would have had a little knob at the bottom of the seat to release it. I am not sure when Plymouth started using the latching seat back for the front seat. If anyone can shed light on this I would appreciate it.

If I remember right.....no, they didn't have that until later on. It may have been an option though. I know my 67 Dart didn't have the latch that I remember.

I've got a 67 GTX and it doesn't latch either.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I think you answered my question. The Belvedere II I bought has the latch on the back of the seat. I was looking for chrome release knobs and couldn't find any, nor could I find any reference to them in the Mopar service or parts manual. I found a photo of ones for a 69 - 70 seat that looked exactly like the ones on my car. I suspected the seat had been changed out at some point before I got it. Looks like you guys verified it. Thanks for the quick feedback.

No latch per say! Did have a piece of spring steel on the hinge side to keep the back from vibrating!
