I am planning to daily my 66 Satellite and I want to put on a quick release steering wheel as a added safety precaution, But before I do this I would like to know if anybody else has done this and how did it turn out for them.

As an anti-theft device, or to make it easier to get in or out?
Anti theft...check out Grants kit. One of the guys at fabo uses one.
I have a quick disconnect on one of my cars, and I do use it as anti theft at shows, but it's there because of the roll cage. It's not really necessary because of a swing-out bar, and its on an aftermarket steering shaft. Not really what you are trying to do.

I'm using it as a anti theft and my car is completely stock and what is the grants kit you are talking about?

Sorry Ben, I checked out quick disconnect at fabo, and saw that someone there used the grant kit from summit. Went to summit, found the grant kit "Grant anti-theft system 2001" , summit number GRT 2001, but summit says "not available".
You could maybe try Grant directly, or Jegs, or Amazon. The sales blurb/ description is still on summits site.
