I am finally to the point of installing my new aluminum radiator in my 74 RR. I ordered a 26 inch three row Champion part number CC375.
When I set it down in position it is too narrow to reach what I thought was the mounting holes. I am wondering if there was some sort of mounting brackets or side filler panels that bolted into the core support to adapt to the side flanges on radiator. My car when I got it had a radiator cobbled into it from who knows what and was falling apart. Since I have a 1968 383 engine in it this radiator should work with the driver's side lower hose fitting. Does anyone have a pic of their aluminum radiator bolted in? any help is appreciated.

Put mine in "dry fit" and seems that my hood needs to be pushed down after closing. Is this typical

Sounds like your car may have originally been a 28 inch radiator car, like my 73 RR, so not sure what was there before, but it wouldn't surprise me especially if it has AC.

Crap just realized this comment is over a year old.

That does not sound normal, there should be less than 1.5 inches (around 1.25") from the radiator support to the highest part of the radiator. Also, stock radiator caps were angled slightly forward on the tank.

I had this same issue on my 73 charger, is it 2" to short? Measure from bolt to bolt on the core support and if it measure aprox 30" then you have the wrong radiator they make a 3 core that's 30" across instead of 28"
