I noticed the top tank on my original 68 charger radiator has a hair line crack. You can tell It's been worked on before. Closest repair shop is 30 miles away. Said they could TRY and repair it. Now I'm a little hesitant to take it to him. Any suggestions?

If you have a 22" and you're not concerned about the correct part numbers, but want to retain a factory appearance, this may be something to consider.

you can drain some coolant and get some acid core solider and a small torch and fix it

Put a strip of brass to cover crack and solder it on.

Find some 50/50 lead solder, it has much better strength and adhesion than the lead free stuff. Any shop that uses the word “try” has no self confidence or professionalism and should be avoided.
