Raised White Letters....Inside or Outside

In my opinion its anyway you want it since its your car, it doesn’t really matter. I like either way, the white letters do make it “pop” BUT like it is in your picture make it look good with the lower black paint and black interior too. If I had to give an opinion though, I would say to keep it like it is. Here are whites on our T5 ‘69 Charger before we switched to redlines…..

Redlines now…..

My 1969 GTX from previous owner put on a set of MasterCraft radial tires and left the white letters facing the underside of the car. I see more and more folks doing this and because it is not a popular brand I am thinking I will leave it as is. Car is T5 exterior. Does anyone have a 69 GTX T5 car with Mastercrafts on it with letters facing out. Would like to see a photo.

I'm 70's old school. White letters out. Black walls are boring.

A car like GTX has enough "Bling" thus I have mine in. Especially if a more off brand tire. Or tire that doesn't have the classic stance. In my case, Cooper Cobra.

I've been a white letters showing kinda guy ever since they came out. The Master Craft lettering are not the most attractive, so maybe that's why they are turned in.
Agreed on the MasterCraft letter design. Some raised white letters by design look good and balanced well on the tire. MasterCraft seems to have larger letters.

That GTX is very nice just how it is.
Letters in always. I'm not advertising for the tire company. Too busy of a look, takes away from the car.

Unless it's the factory Goodyear polyglas GT tires

Thats a good point. It it was the factory tire no doubt letters out. Off brand tire in otherwise it may cheapen the look of the car.

Thanks all for great feedback. Interesting I saw no responses with Mastercraft tires mounted with letters out. That may be saying something.

Depending on the car, white letters either got turned in or out. Had lots of cars with white letters and it depended on if I was trying to be low key or not....but today, that really doesn't matter much. Do what you like. Been many times that I did something that I didn't like the looks of and did the opposite. Swapping tires is easy especially if you have a tire machine. Had a manual machine until I sold it at the start of a divorce. Still miss it....

I sent this pic. to my son and he asked where i got the pornhub rubbers, knew i had to put them letters out! I hadn't put the steers on yet in second pic!

Now thats what I'm talking about - those Redlines. Would love to see Redlines on my GTX someday but its an amazing transformation on your Charger.

I bought my first set of red lines after Coker came out with a radial that featured a bias ply tread pattern. I've heard some bad reports on them, but mine did okay. Currently run real bias plies on my '69 GTX. They don't handle or ride as well as radials, but they get me to Carlisle and back every summer. Baby Blue shown before and after, 1990 and 2021.
