Raised White Letters....Inside or Outside

I made an exception for my four speed car in 2016. The only one I've owned since 1983 that didn't run black walls or red lines. During my high school days there was a matched set of Saddle Bronze T7 '69 GTXs in town. Both had factory road wheels. One car ran raised white letter Polyglas, the other one ran red lines. They both looked great.

Same car now equipped with bias ply red lines. Now hidden in a private collection. Hasn't been driven ten miles since I sold it in 2021.

If tires have OWL they get mounted inside, no exceptions. I got to choose what tires went on my work truck, I’d always get BFG AT’s with the white letters out. It was the only one in the fleet with letters out so finding my truck in a sea of white F150’s was easy. My ‘69 GTX has MT drag radials out back, both sides are black wall so I run the TA radials on the front with the white letters to the inside so they match.

I guess it depends on the vehicle…
