Hey folks, I realize that this subject has probably been discussed elsewhere before, but I was hoping someone might be able to shed a little light on my cluster removal. I still have my first car from 15 years ago...a 72 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus with the rallye instrument cluster and floor mount automatic. I suspect my voltage limiter has gone out (no temp or fuel gauge reading), so I'm fixing to replace it with an upgraded electronic one. I need to remove the cluster just enough to get the new limiter in there from the top, so my question is; how do I back out and remove the cluster to get enough room to work? I've removed all four screws on the face, the two behind and underneath the steering column, removed the AM radio, and the speedometer cable, but something is still hanging me up on the bottom left hand corner of the cluster (around the heater controls even though it doesn't seem to be the problem). I realize that I probably need to remove the headlight and wiper switch as well...I actually just fixed that a couple weeks back...It also doesn't seem to be hanging me up either. Any help would be greatly appreciated guys. Thanks alot.

usually what hangs you up is the heater controls. you can unscrew the 3/8 nuts (2) from the back

Along these lines, can the wood grain on the passengers side be removed without removal of the dash?

Wow, those were some quick responses! Thanks alot fellas...this surely will be helpful. Hopefully I'll get to complete this in the next few days or weekends... we have a six-week old, so I'm lucky if I get the chance to work on it for a couple of hours a week. I'll get on the welcome wagon thread and post a couple "before" pictures pretty soon. Although I've had the car since I was 15, I'm just now getting the itch to work on it again and get the body, engine & interior finally right. Thanks again

Yes it can, but may be a little rough on your knuckles. The glove box liner and ash tray assembly need to be removed. There are 6 phillips head screws, 2 on very left edge, 2 on right of double a/c vents or about 11 1/2 inches from left edge, 1 to left of right a/c vent or 6 1/2 inches from right edge and 1 on very right edge top corner.

Thank you for the info and quick reply. Going to give it a shot this weekend.
