Ram air

Just put a 440 in place of 383. I have a ram air hood on car I have edelbrock performer heads with performer rpm intake with quick fuel carb.the new set seats 1 inch higher then on 383 do they make base plates that sit lower someone told me there's 2 types.I have single carb base plate thanks for all replies

Yes there is a base for a 440 which sits lower. I think around 3/8" but it has been a while.

They are hard to come by and very pricey but if you search hard enough and long enough you will find one. I found mine at a mopar swap meet they usually sell for around a 100 or so more than the 383 ones you may get lucky and find just a base.
You need one from a 69' coronet R/T or GTX with ram air
They may repop them I don't know

how can you tell the difference if your just looking at one, and with what I said about my engine do you think it will fit under my hood ? thanks for info,
