Rattles Squeaks and Leaks.

Hope you didn't actually end up with that?!!!! Sometimes the sounds start workin' on ya tho.

My dad bought a new 67 Plymouth Wagon that had rattle in the rear and turns out it was a coke bottle rattling around in the spare tire well. Disgruntled line worker most likely.

Dad said while working for GM is St. Louis the kept a bottle of whiskey in the kick panel area of trucks and as it went down the line you could take a pull if needed. If it went dry it got reloaded and continued .. he said many times there were issues from no starts to you name it... I can only imagine lol!

I heard a similar story here. Inside the bottle was a note that said "Ha Ha you found me"

After I put back together the project '72 Satellite I had purchased in pieces, I kept hearing a "ringing" noise under the hood but could not determine where it was coming from. A shade tree mechanic isolated it for me and it was not a serious problem at all.

That little tubular spacer that the long alternator bolt runs through had a tiny bit of slack and was vibrating and causing the noise.

Took my '65 Barracuda Formula S to a local mechanic who owned a classic Mopar for some minor work. When I left his shop, I heard like a grinding noise. Looked under the vehicle and saw the fill plug for the differential was missing. Went back and he inserted the fill plug. When I inquired about the noise, he said he did not hear anything.

After I returned home, I later went out to investigate the grinding. I found a dry rear axle bearing going out. I did not return to the shop, fixed it myself.
