Hi everyone looking to buy a used RB valve spring compressor tool the kind you bolt where the rocker shaft mounts to and you pull the handle down thanks
Mine is a KD #2400 from NAPA. I take the rocker assembly off and have a spare bare rocker shaft that I use with the KD tool. Used this for many years, pull the plug and put cotten clothes line into the cylinder to hold the valves in place by bringing the piston up against the rope & valves. I've used this to replace a broken valve spring between rounds and gone on to win the race.
Thanks but I got very impatient and made a duplicate copy of one from pics on the internet I will be installing my valve springs tomorrow this is after I spent 40 on a universal one on ebay that will not work
Be careful, it appears on yours that the pieces that contact the spring retainer are fixed, that may "cock" the the spring as you depress it. My KD tool has hooks that go under the shaft and the parts that contact the retainer pivot as it goes through the arc. BTW great innovation making your own.
