I have a 6 pack 69 Plymouth GTX. I lost the engine due to a rod breaking. I am rebuilding a new 440 bored .030 with an Eagle 512 stroker kit with eagle H rods, JE pistons, external oiler, Edelbrock RPM heads, custom comp cams(254 and 260
LSA 112
lift 632 for intake and exhaust) . I have a Weiand 6 pack intake with Holley vacuum carbs. Carbs have all been rebuilt with Promax parts. Promax wants $200 to tune them for me. Is the 6 pack a waste of horsepower or should I go with a Indy single plane with a 950 Holley carb ?

I was wondering if anyone had any dyno results or experience with this stroker motor ?

The six pack will make very good power as one of the mags tested a six pack and it made just about the same hp as the single plane and 950 DP carb. Now the single plane and DP carb is much easier to tune so if your not real good with the six pack then you might want to consider the single carb setup. But power wise its not alot of difference from what I have seen. Ron

I run a Quickfuel Q950 on a 512 stroker. 632HP/696TQ. After spending 8 hours at the dyno shop, I'm sure glad I did. Changing jet's, drilling out high speed air bleeds, changing power valve, changing the low speed air bleeds....all to balance exhaust gas temps, low/high transition quality and HP/Torq curves. Once in the car it was a matter of dialing in the 4 corner idle screws, idle speed, secondary transition and accelerator pumps. I can't imagine a 6 pack set up would tune as much, or how much more complicated it would become to do so. One thing if for certain, the six pack definitely has is the bling factor.

UWSS, CFM wise, the 6 pack carbs equal approx 780 CFM worth of flow. Remember they are 2bbl.'s which are rated differently than a 4bbl. If your racing the car at anytime, you will be down on CFM.

That is the con of the 6 pack. As well as ease of tuning.

The Pro is as stated, the bling and running on gas saving, high throttle response of the center carb. Though with such a large engine, the demand of the out board carbs would probably come in sooner than standard engines would take on.
That last sentence may be a catch 22.

I myself like to run old and unique stuff some times just for the heck of it. It is always cool to see something old and even better when it can perform well.

Rumblefish360 is there a way to increase the cfm flow out of the 6 pack ?
