Read if you are not a racist.

Funny, I still haven't seen very many black drivers or mechanics for that matter in a very long time, what happened?

Thanks for sharing Mechanic.

Unfortunately, racism still exists. It just isn't (wasn't...) as overt as it was back before the civil rights movement. Current events have highlighted to me the fact that we have a long way to go before racism is snuffed out of this country.

Racism was at its lowest in the era I grew up in......hippie days.

Napoleon Bonaparte'
In the end we lost the peaceful social war.....but enjoyed an advantage for a while at least.

The Hippies were running the country, a month ago. Good riddance.

I remember Wendel Scott, I read about him & have seen film of him
I was too young to see him in person, he was a great driver/owner

We just recently got rid of the "Divider in Chief" ex-pres. Zero
{God I love saying ex-pres. 0}
he was supposed to be the anointed one,
he was supposed to be the healers, the next coming, but
just another bleeding heart activist,
like the 60's & 70's HIPPIES {mostly protesting activist dopers/Losers} were...

Liberal a new look 1963 & Now.jpg

IMO he & his party, all did more to negate all the good faith & healing,
that was done in good favor, that was worked on so hard for decades,
as to race relations with his & his parties race-baiting/blatantly racist rhetoric
& the Zero's divisive nature, favoritism to one race or other...

Special programs or laws made, to aide only one color one race,
not all people, all Americans, all races, the total separation/segregationist mentality,
we strived for decades to eliminate...
Lost the past 8 years...

More of the poor pity me, victim class, flag hating, safe space, snowflakes &
more of the BLM & Isolationist, bigoted race BS...
IMO that he & his party all supported, has set US all back 5 decades...

Ok off my soap box for now

Nascar for a year or two and Indy or Formula cars.

Interesting, good read!

I was in high school during the de-segregation years (76-79). Many of the black students rode the bus to school. Those were tumultuous times; lots of racially motivated fights and such. But there was one black guy who had a 1969 Chevelle he drove to school. I had a 1968 Camaro at the time. He was a car guy and got along well with everybody. Some of the brothers gave him a hard time for talking to the white guys but he didn't let it stop him. Having something in common, like an appreciation for muscle cars, would have helped relieve the racial tension but it never occurred to the school administrators.

Here's another informative and historical web page about black race car drivers.
