You get the gold star for being closest to correct. You're using the wrong size hammer to remove your spark plugs.
Dang it Cranky! I've been using Autolites in my wife's 421 and my 440+6 for 2 years now. My engine builder for the Pontiac who has built as many engines as I have had lunches, who I've known for decades, recommended Autolites, and since then so did many others whom I trust, including Don at FBO Ignition who I got my current iggy from.Looks like some of the Autolites did over the years. One time I pulled a spark plug wire off and it looked kinda weird. The whole electrode came out still attached to the clip in the boot! I quit using them after that.....
This was in the 70's early 80's. Noticed several that looked like they were leaking around the top of the base. The porcelain looked like it had burn marks on em then when one let go of the center electrode, I knew they were having some problems. If they are working well for you, keep using them. I'm sure not going to say bad things about ya if you do lolDang it Cranky! I've been using Autolites in my wife's 421 and my 440+6 for 2 years now. Unless a vast chorus of Mopar family members chime in here in unison with a different proven brand, I'm sticking with Autolites
