I have a 70 belvedere that at some point I will need to remove and reinstall the rear glass. Can anyone help me with the best way to do this.

Remove the trim and get yourself a helper.Fish a piece of piano type wire through the Butyl seal, attach a wood block on each end and start sorta a saw type motion and work your way around it.Thats about the best way to ensure it isnt broke.

that is kinda what I was thinking but wasnt sure. thanks. Now when I get ready to put the glass back in, what sealant should I use and should I put the trim clips in first when I reset the glass or after.

Or after you take a carpet knife and cut as much of the window seal that you can buy a window removal tool that has a 90 degree angle blade and run it around the whole window and take it out yourself. I did that with mine.
