Rear ID boss location

Where is the boss located where the ratio is stamped on a 1963 8 3/4 rear?

Don't know about the 63's but every 8 3/4 I've ever came across had a tag that was attached to one of the lower nuts that holds the 3rd member into the housing....

I believe the tag was after 65 or 66, before it was stamped. I just don't know where that boss is located as I couldn't see it, but I can tell someone where to look.

Are you trying to find the ratio or is it a number match question?

The ratio is stamped on this boss.

there is a flat spot, bottom center, about 2" x 2" area of case.

Greg Lane just responded by email. The flat pad is located just below the filler plug on the passenger side of the case.
