When I bought the car it had Edelbrock rear shocks on it. I went to pull the old rear end out from under the car this morning and the drum hit the extended shock and the next thing I knew I had oil running out of the stock. I am pretty sure there were gas filled so now I need to replace the rear shocks…#*^~>€!!
Any suggestions??

Don't spend a bundle on rear shocks unless you are going for something special. Monroe has great shocks for a modest price.

Bought a pair of Gabriel Classic shocks and while I was under the car I checked the spring bushings, they were shot so I dropped the springs and ordered new bushings. The car continues to amaze me, I broke the bolts loose using a 10" crescent wrench, love them west coast cars.....!
