My 273 is all apart and just about finished ordering all the parts cant wait to finish it. Its seems to be very hard to find parts for this motor. Can't find a stock replacement piston .30 over with recessed ring any info would be appreciated. Thanks Anthony

Thank you Guys we decided to bore a set of new rings for the original pistons they cleaned up nice after glass beading them. Things are going great should be done with the motor soon.

bead blasting a piston ruins:yes: the surface of the piston.High performance pistons are coated on the skirt to help with cylinder skuffing and wear. You now have sand paper for your motor.I made mine into ash trays. There 40 year old pistons anyways.Modern cast pistons are made way better.Have the motor done buy a machine shop and have them check it out before buying parts.

Call paw and use one of there engine kits. The pistons they sell are made by egge and thats because egge makes pistons for everyone.I was going to build a 273 and called everyone under the sun.The price is right and it's everything you need. How much power are you trying to make?I see you have a 67 coronet and if this is the car your using the 273 in, then you have no room for a mistake because of the weight factor. If you bead blasted where the wrist pins go ,you will never get the pins back in anyways.Just built a 318 with a paw ssi cam and it walks past 6000 rpm no problem.[.453 lift \\ 225 @ 50 \\ 108 center line.single pattern.\\\\ motor is in 67 cuda
