Receiving Payment

I have a good safe and it is lag bolted from the inside to the floor (and very heavy). I keep my car cash (I call it) in there. Not in the bank. I do ALL my deals cash only. Normally keep up wards of 30K in there. If I sell a car or parts I want cash. If I buy a car or parts I pay cash.

Hope you never posted your address here.

I have a very good security system! And it would take some time to find it anyway. Also protected most of the time (I am retired) buy a dragoon 44 magnum lol.
Also I am restoring a 68 charger lol so any thief better hurry cause it is going fast! Man parts are pricy for these cars.

bank to bank, wire transfer
is acceptable if you got all the proper info
I hold the title, till everything is shown up & cleared

but cash in hand, is still "the king" of transactions

My bank told me recently when I asked to mark some 100's before they handed them to me said that some are getting good enough to pass that pen test. Many years ago I got a fake 100 bill and that's still sour with me.

I will just say we moved it in with AC 17 tractor. Put it in the bucket and it almost tipped the tractor over front wards. He kept it low in the bucket and every little bump the back tires would try to come off the ground. It was out of a business that failed and I got it very reasonable. It is sitting on a concrete floor.

Maybe old news View attachment 861336 but the Aussies don't allow cash transactions over $10k. What is next!
All transactions in excess of $10,000 in cash must be reported to Police over here now. In the name of a new law to counter money laundering. That sucks big time.
It's not a problem if you have nothing to hide, but yet another chance to erode your freedom as a citizen.

You have to sign a IRS disclosure form here in the US on deposits and withdrawals of 10K or more. That's the reason cash is king here as well as elsewhere.

some people are understandably worried carrying a large amount of cash across several states.

My ****- for-brains pussy brother-in-law once had $600.00 cash (can't remember how he acquired it) in his possession and he was scared to have "that much" cash on him.

If you have that little cash while walking around down at Carlisle, you're a friggin' pauper!

We're at $5000 CDN cash withdrawal or deposit now when the government wants to stick their nose into it! Gone are the days when I use to fly around Canada with an Ammo box with a couple hundred in it after buying or selling an aircraft. Wife and I use to always laugh that sooner or later I'd go down en-route and the rumour would come true that I was a drug runner with my own airstrip!

When we go anywhere I usually carry 2 to 3K. I mean with CL in all these towns and antique shops (also my downfall) You never know when a good deal comes along and sometimes they wont accept anything but cash.

40 years ago, the largest denomination was $100 bills. That was fine because buying a car might be a couple of thousand, at most. We STILL only have $100 bills as the largest denomination. I tried to buy a car a few years ago for $18,000 (it sold before I got there). $18,000 'ain't easy to carry in your pocket!!! I can't imagine if I was going to try and carry $30 or $40K!

Yes, it is the fricken government, and they will claim it is to avoid money laundering, and I am sure that helps. But I believe the real reason is so they can stick their hands in our wallets and keep taxing the **** out of us. :mob::up:

$50k will fit in your wifes purse a good size one.:eek::eek::D

$100 bills, we've had $1000's since 1957.. :) Just too bad I haven't had my hands on one in about 9 years..

Too bad my wife won't go crawl around a greasy old car with me, and I think her purse will clash with my outfit!!!

Sure officially. But in reality for people to use: they don't exist - good luck going to a bank and asking for ANY NUMBER of $1000 bills!

Jerry - can you disclose anymore about the above. I’ve transacted more than this amount many times and have never signed such a document. Must not be a federal demand.

Had them ALL the time, even gave them to my nieces and nephews as their wedding presents. Contractors weren't too happy when I gave them to them on cash deals.. with "how the F am I going to use this in the Tim Horton's Drive Through" !! LMAO

That's cool. I asked my bank if they had them and they said no; it would be nice if they became more prevalent. I'd be a lot happier carrying 20 $1000 bills rather than 200 $100 bills!!!

I think ours have been taken out of circulation... not certain, but I haven't seen one in a LONG long time !
