Hi all

This is the heater hose support bracket (the blue, painted one) that we've had on our '69 Sport Satellite since we bought it in 1985.

We've only fairly recently realised that, after looking at other cars' brackets, it might not be the original one, as it's quite different to the thin sheet-metal, unpainted one we've seen elsewhere.

So, in an ongoing attempt to get the car back to near enough kind of original (vague enough for ya? :sad1:) we bought the one that Y.O. sell for this application, but as you can see, the mounting holes are miles different.

Yes, it could be that someone fitted a non-standard bracket before we bought the car, and in doing so, filled the original 1x hole and drilled 2x new holes, but that does seem unlikely as pretty much most of the car was origial when we bought it.

Just wondering if anyone recognises it, and whether it likely to be original equipment? It's a 318 car with heater & no a/c, by the way.

Thanks :icon_salut:

Ive tore apart many 67-up B and E bodies and that first bracket in the pic (your original one) does not look factory to me (too thick), that bracket that held the heater hoses generally were very thin "sheet metal" and had one attached to the alternator bracket and another one similar to the one you are holding on the inner fender.

Thanks for the replies guys. As I suspected :icon_rolleyes:

I still think our (presumably) 'homemade' bracket looks better!

We got the one in the 2nd pic from Year One, along with the alternator-mounted bracket, so will use them.

Shame we didnt realise before we had the engine bay painted :eusa_doh:
