Getting ready to paint the 360 for my 68 Coronet, i really like the factory red that the SB's came with but I'm not sure how its going to look in a black car. Anyone have some pics of red smallblocks in a black car?
Maybe it stems from my youth, accused of scratching eng comp paint while tuning up a slant-6. But if there's anything I dislike about Mopars, it's body-color eng comp... especially the brighter colors. Black, or even white, seems to focus attention to the engine. And red looks great in a black basket !
Here is a pic of a red block and black engine bay, the previous owner painted it this way, been debating whether to go back to the correct torquoise, what do you all think ??
I hear your painpersonally i've always hated the chevy engine compartment treatment in my 70
