Thanks Guys. 68-70
Original 68 "red" was a dark maroon color
69 was a bright red like 6PKRTSE posted
70 they did not offer red in B-bodies. But the E and A-body red is like 69.

Not sure if the 66 "red" is brighter than the 68 ?

1968 red is one year only color.

1966-7 is darker,
1969 is very bright as seen above.

Check out former member moparnation's build thread of his 69 GTX. I think he counted at minimum of 4 shades of red in his factory resto.

Interesting

As I have a set of ft arm rest pads from a 1968 and they are darker than the rear set I have from a 1966

I looked at a red interior 68 GTX maybe 10 years ago. And best I remember it was a darker burgandy color compared to the car I own now

I recently sold an untouched original red console from a 68 and it was most definitly darker than the red console in my car

And agreed 1969 , which was pretty much a tomato red and did not have the pearlessence sheen to it when compared to earlier cars

1966 on the left
1968 on the right

The 1966 has a pearl like glow to it
The darker one on the right , does not

Yes, my Coronet R/T was at least 4 shades of different reds. One for plastics, one for vinyls, one for the painted steel parts and then the fabrics like carpet and seat belts.
