How do I release the pins in the turn signal wire harness on my 68 Coronet:

There are lock tabs on the right and left hand side of each terminal... I use a tool like this..

Wow, that's a big picture.. LOL... Anyway, if you are replacing the switch and not trying to save it you can also just squeeze the terminal with needle nose and get them out

They are a real pain without the right tool! I used a big staple from a cardboard box, bent it in a U-shape and ground it down a little till it fit in there.

Thanks! I tried creating something like that double prong with old feeler gauges but think I need to use thicker ones. And yep, I need to save the harness.

They are a pain. Push the tool in from the terminal end (not the wire end)

Okay, I followed all of your VERY HELPFUL advice and found that my eyeglasses screwdriver worked best. The trick (for me) was realizing that I was needing to actually bend the prongs (that held the terminal) as opposed to simply squeezing them as I do with normal connector spades. The metal in these terminals seems to be less springy than in normal spades.

So, to add to everyone's helpful hints, here is my tip: First jam the screwdriver into one of the two side slots and wiggle it to bend the prong so it STAYS BENT. Then jam the screwdriver into the other side slot and wiggle it to bend the prong on THAT side so that it stays bent. Now that you've bent/released the two prongs, remove the screwdriver and the terminal should pull out.

I was trying to simultaneously bend the prongs AND pull the terminal. That's unnecessary.

Of course, I'll need to bend the prongs back to their original position so the terminal locks in place when I put them back.
