thanks for the run down of cally, can cross that out on the bucket list.

There’s a awesome punk band called Lagwagon that has a new album out. The song “Surviving California” is great. If you like fast high energy music these guys are terrific. Very well written lyrics. And unlike most punk bands they have a hot guitar player who lays down a sizzling solo.

Thank you. I was attempting to go at it from the other way, hoping that one of the icons at the top of the dialogue box would take me there.
I was surprised at the similarities in the lyrics between the song you posted and mine. The gist of what they were trying to say is very similar.

They are both telling it like it is.... Which isn't how it was or should be.... I use to really like being from California... Not so much these days... And it doesn't need to be that way...

the problem with america is they dont want you to say how it really is,Ive always been real and some people like it and most dont. At least you know were Im coming from.

I’ve only be to California once. Was there for about ten days. Liked it, but it’s not for me. That’s nothing against California, most heavily populated places aren’t for me just because of where I live. Here’s my observations, they are worth what you paid for them, and I hope I don’t offend anyone, I consider you guys friends and I’m discussing, not confronting.
We first went to Los Angeles. Spent a few days there. Didn’t fit in, mostly because we don’t look, act, or sound like we were from there. I definitely felt like we were judged by appearance, and although California tries to portray itself as laid back, there’s a look that you need to conform to. In many ways I think the laid back demeanour is an affectation. Went to the huge Mexican market in LA. Looked even more out of place, didn’t speak the language, and yet we were accepted. Don’t know why. People randomly invited us to bar b que’s, gave us free stuff, introduced themselves. I found Texas very much like that, but Texas is different in other ways. We went to Palm Springs, and couldn’t leave fast enough.
The state is beautiful. The weather is amazing. But there are people everywhere. I could live there if I could occasionally get away from civilization. Not to a park full of people and bike lanes, but to a place with nothing. I live in an area where you can drive on our main highway for two hours with no cell phone coverage because there IS no cell phone coverage.
I gotta end this, I’m rambling. I think every place has it’s good and bad. I guess it’s all in the eye of the beholder. Where I live has a crime rate several times your average per capita. It’s cold here. It’s expensive to live here.
But here’s something I’ve noticed of the ‘States as a whole, lately. And it’s not an insult, I’m not trying to start a fight or a “Canada sucks too!” debate, it’s not political, it’s just what I’ve noticed lately. If it’s offensive I’ll remove it and apologize. It’s this: Americans seem angrier now. They may not be, I don’t know. But they seem that way.

Not offending me any.. I am angrier.. They have turned my state into a dump... FWIW if you saw more of the state you'd likely find an area or two where you could live... It's a big state, we do have some really remote areas.. Where I live has always had more population than you might prefer.. When my family moved here in 74 the population was around 30,000. now it's over 200K plus all the surrounding communities which have growth together..

I think it's our own division that makes us a little angrier. That's mostly political around my neck of the woods and I'm sure it's the same for a lot of the country. If there is anything that's uniting us right now it's this virus and that's a world thing. If anything good comes from this I hope it is that we learn to work together. We all here a common interest and for the most part are a pretty happy group.

There is no perfect place to live. Just some that are better than others.
My wife grew up in So Cal.Those homeless camps are where she would go horse back riding as a kid.

Thanks for the vid. Kinda sums it up for that part of the state or the state that it is starting to become. I just feel for the responsible folks that live in California.....

I couldn't have posted it better myself, perfect R/T!
