Remote Control Mirror Came Off - Help Needed

Hey guys. The mirror & back plate that affixes to the adjustment cords came off, as the plate holes are pulled apart. I can put it on a flat pc. of metal to flatten them out but need to know what's the best way to remove the mirror without breaking it. Hopefully I don't have to remove the entire assembly from the door.

You will need to pull the door panel , if you have a factory or factory style repop it will have a stud through the door.

Not sure how one would separate the glass from the metal backing, if I understand you correctly.
