Does anyone know if its possible to repair some broken mounting studs on my 69 Roadrunner tail light extensions? I have two that were broken off and wondered if anyone successfully repaired theirs? I don't have the broken pieces FYI. Thanks!

Those are pot metal, aren't they?

Not sure if/how those can be done....maybe something like JB Weld?

You can grind the broken end flush and drill down where the stud was (being careful not to exit to the outside) and glue a piece of 1/4-20 all thread in the hole.

That's what I was thinking, but was going to suggest drilling and tapping for 3/16" threaded rod.

True, 1/4" may be overkill, but I didn't think there would be much meat to tap into as the hole won't be very deep. Even a bottoming tap is only going to net you a few threads usable threads at best.

"69 B body tail light extensions grow on trees anyway, so it's not like it's made of unobtanium should the procedure go horribly awry.
