Mine is all bent up, and I plan on replacing with AMD. Seems straightforward enough. Put the car on jackstands, cut the spot welds and replace? Or does it need to be braced. The K frame is still in, which should give the rails enough support right?

Really no reason to brace anything if that is the only piece you are removing. I have used the AMD part before with no issues. Like stated above, US Cartool makes one as well, but it doesn't look stock. It is beefier however.

Does theirs replace stock or is it a brace that welds onto the stock piece?

I have never used one, but believe they get welded to your existing. Maybe they can be used alone, idk.

Have I got a deal for you ... brand new AMD piece left over from my build. I'm heading to Carlisle Pa. for Spring Carlisle and can ship from there. $150 plus the ride if you're interested.

Also have tha top rad support (no sides) and rear supports that the rear bumper brackets bolt through (68-70 B-body - except Charger)

I actually have the AMD lower radiator support. Should I have it level on jackstands as with most other metal work, or should it be fine sitting on the suspension as long as that is the only piece being removed?

Its fine sitting on the suspension - but that's awfully low to be doing that work? How old are you?
