Can you replace the lower pitman arm shaft seal on a 68 GTX power steering gear box with it still in the car? I can get the kit from Rockauto and it looks like it has a snap ring. Anyone done this before? Everything works good with it, just a drip on the pitman arm nut. Thanks

You need a GOOD pitman arm puller and be careful of cleanliness!

If you have room to get a good puller on, then it can be done. On stubborn ones, I will crank puller tight and then use my air hammer with a long bit on the top side of arm. Usually pops them right off. Cheap pullers usually break without topside help.
