I'm restoring the carburetor on my 67 R/T, and need a source for re-plating all the small linkage components. Many are zinc dichromate, others look to be cadmium, and a couple are black oxide. I will bead blast all the parts to bare metal, and have them grouped by finish for the plater. I need someone I can TRUST not to lose the parts or damage them. This is the original carburetor to the car, and therefore is made from unobtanium!

I've hit up several carburetor restoration services to see if they would perform just the plating portion for me, but none are willing. Can't really blame them, but thought someone might be willing to help out someone doing a DIY project.

Does anyone have a trusted source that they've personally used in the past, and have had good luck with? I'm not that concerned with cost; quality and trust is more important to me. And, I want to have the parts turned around in a reasonable time frame.

Cheers!

hi have you looked into some Eastwood products they have some coatings that I've used that look good. cad, zinc, a carb paint to restore the look of the org. color. check them out

Thanks for the input, but I'm really looking for a shop who'll do the plating. I don't want to spend money on kits I'll only use once, and I wonder about the end product. Painting is not an option for me as I really want an accurate restoration, and something that will last.

Anyone have a good plating source they can recommend?

I've used Eric Manuel for years. He always does a great job, never lost anything. Need to bag and label exactly what plating for bagged parts. I've always taken pictures of all my parts before sending, as some would be very difficult to replace.

His email is 3404@oh.rr.com
