I have a question. Did anyone ever reupholster just one seat with all the rest of the interior being old using a legendary etc. cover? (I assume legendary is the best?)
If so how did it turn out? Does it stick out like a sore thumb or is it actually hard to tell apart from the rest of the interior?
Pictures would of course be great if possible.

I just had some upholstery work done on my office chair and the guy did a GREAT job.
I asked him if he could also fix my passenger seat but he is not sure if he can find the right kind of vinyl and suggested that buying a ready made cover might lead to a better result.
He could give it a try though. So that's where i'm currently at.

My car is a 69 charger with a green Interior in case it matters.

I think you need to do a pair at a time minimum.
25 years ago I made my own seat bottom for the passenger side and it turned out okay considering I was making it up as I went.

Well the upholstery guy i mentioned only reupholstered half of my office chair and if i didn't knew i wouldn't be able to tell.
But of course the leather needs to match VERY well for this. Hence while i'm asking.
The thing is this guy specialises in these type of chairs and he told me he was searching very long until he found the right kind of leather.

Not sure how good of a match you'll get due to sun bleaching and different manufacturers. You might try sms auto fabrics. They're a know upholsterer in the classic car industry. They can send you a sample if you know what color you need. Might need to call them to make sure.

One option is…replacing just the drivers upholstery and then spray dying both drivers and existing passenger seats.

Answer: yes. Answer: yes. Answer: yes, but that depends on the condition of the passenger ( mostly) and the rear seat. The poorer the remaining seats condition, the more obvious the replacement seat.

I did just the drivers seat in my Swinger a couple years ago. The back seat was perfect and didn't need replaced. The color matched well

One thing i want to add is that i'm not looking to cheap out.
The car is a survivor and i want to preserve the originality as good as possible.
It's only a crack in the passenger seat bottom half. I already had that fixed but it only lasted a couple months and didn't look very good.

Getting samples is a good idea.

I did that in 1978 and the grain didn't quite match. No one else noticed but I did.

I replaced the front bench cover in my RR, the back is still the original. I know, not sitting next to each other, but nobody can tell I did it. The original front was torn up on the bun, no chance to save it.
