got the new shafts installed after the snafu with the broken shaft. I had the intake off of the car to open the valley to insure that there was no damage elsewhere,(wasn't any) when I pulled the intake off it tore the grey gaskets all to shtt, couldn't use them again so I went to our local gasket store and had them cut me four .063 teflon gaskets for the intake. had my friend at the fab shop burn me a set of hold downs for the sides of the flimsy pan for the eddy victors. hopfully that will end the oil seep along the edge of the intake pan. when I started it the engine showed no signs of a vaccum leak and I will keep a close eye on it. the four gaskets were 80.00 bux including the set-up for the water table, they are flawless, if they work they will save a ton of money on gaskets, these should be reusable a bunch of times. I will post up about how they work out later. Dave.

Well, got a chance to put a few miles on the old plymouth today, drove to a couple of places to show the car to friends. the car did not seem to mind, no leaks anywhere, and the little hold downs that I made for the valley pan stopped the seep from that area, the teflon intake gaskets are holding up so far and I am tickled with that so far. Its not getting hot or anything and is running pretty smooth. the fuel gauge works but the thermometer doesn't, so I'll address that soon, the front parking lights do not work, maybe bulbs?? turn signals do but the back lights blink pretty fast. after looking at car the today I'm only going to replace the passenger side quarter as the driver side will fix easy. get the mufflers and pipes on and then the US car tool frame ties and tourque boxes, then roll bars, I am a couple of mo.s ahead of where I thought I would be from this time last year, I may get to the track this summer after all!! all in all I put about 30 mi.s on the car without incident today, loud but a hellava lot of fun. first time the car has been down the road in 25 yr.s, what a blast!!! Dave.

Never forget about checking "grounds"!You could have a good connection one day and had the next..

OB thats exactly what I did, fiberglass bumper, no ground!! I'll have to run a small ground from the parking light housing to a ground on the frame. Dave.

Funny, I'm in the same boat with the glass bumper. Threw my whole lighting system into haywire because of the lack of ground.
