Is there any advantage to running rocker shafts with oiling holes on the top and bottom?
I have roller rocker arms in my 440/495. If I used rocker shafts like you see above, the top segment of the rocker arm would receive direct oiling. Right now, I have replacement shafts with the holes facing down. I have many years on the rocker arms and have seen no increase in slop so I’m not sure if an upgrade is necessary.
I could see that these would pose a problem if used with the stock stamped steel rocker arms since the holes would be open to spray oil up to the underside of the valve covers.
Is there any advantage to using them with aftermarket rocker arms?
