A 3 peat in the 24hrs of Daytona. He has been involved in some of the most grueling race circuits in the world and he continues to be a winner. Congratulations!!!! From winning the SCCA championship in 1968 with a 1968Z28 to this. What an organization!!!!

Him or Rick Hendrick. They both know how to surround themselves with good people and stay out of the way.
Rick Hendricks has done really well also but I don’t think it compares to the winning history of Penske. He has won very meaningful championships since 1968

Pennsylvania guy, I think. I believe he still grieves for Mark Donohue, killed testing his ground effects Chapparal, if memory serves. A major contributor to motor racing everywhere.

Mark Donahue and Roger Penske are the reason why my favorite car from
The 60’s is the 68 Z28. They made a hell of a pair!!!!

Very tough subject. As a team owner. Yes, Penske gets the nod. Driver/Owner? It gets more competitive. Even though Penske had much success as a driver in early years.

Worldwide? Manufacturer/Driver/Team owner? Enzo Ferrari. Nobody set the bar high as that guy.

Last relevant/winning Dodge team owner, right?
When Brad Keseloski won the Nascar Championship in the number 2 Miller Lite Dodge,it was the last race for Penske in Dodge racecars. They were invited to the White House with the car. Penske brought the Ford version of the racecar instead of the Dodge version that actually won the Championship. I guess it was a good move for business, but Dodge got screwed again.

They were very successful for sure as a manufacturer and with several factory backed cars. Ferrari is a brand that is built with racing in mind, I wouldn't consider him a team leader per say even though in a sense they are. The majority of their wins thru out history were from privateers I believe but I could be wrong. If you are bringing up manufactures, I would think Ferando Porsche would be the more successful over numerous classes and circuits. I would also say as an engineer and businessman they built a superior car at all levels. Ferrari is a specialty car that is not a typical production/daily driver car, they are very finicky and extremely high maintenance compared to a Porsche.

Don't forget the Trans Am series...

Penski-Hilton Racing, Sunoco Chevrolet Trans Am Champion

everything Penski touches is golden (except Saturn)

Porsche? Ferrari? I have owned very bad examples of both...
'55 pre-A 1200 Porsche, so rusty you could see the road next to the clutch. Starter inop when I bought it, so roll down hill and pop clutch to start. New Bride not impressed, and feared the future with Geff...
An ad appeared for a Ferrari 250GTE on the O club b board in the UK. LHD. I asked, and the honest answer. We think it is stolen. Bought it anyway for our Dad as our Mom just died. Worth the price for the sound alone! 2800lb aluminum V12 4sp plus o/d. I went to 'Nam, he drove it for 2-3y and sold it. His next car: 65 Dodge Hemi 4sp convertible. Wish he kept that one too.
